Illustrious Voyeur Hiatus

Hey Everyone,

We sincerely apologize about the lack of communication over the last month regarding the upcoming issue of IV. Unfortunately, a lot of confusion, miscommunication, lack of submissions, and lack of time have put the panel in a position to put the Illustrious Voyeur on hold for the time being. Since we are students, time outside of school and related work has made it difficult for us to carry on with Volume 2 for it's scheduled release. We are not shelving the Zine, we just needed to step away from it until we got a grasp on what we needed to do for school, our personal lives, and the future of the zine. We discussed potentially combining October's Campfire Tales and November's Dia De Los Muertos themes and turning it into a Mortality Issue due to be released Nov 1st. However, we never made a set decision as a panel and this upcoming issue as well as future issues have been put on the back burner. So, until a set decision is made about Volume 2 as well as future volumes of the Illustrious Voyeur, we will not be announcing any new information. Once we feel that we are in a position to continue, we will make an announcement and send newsletters. We will also be posting our rules of submission and publication, as well as our mission statement once we decide when we will be continuing on with Volume 2.

In the meantime, email us if you have any comments or questions regarding Volume One, or general questions about the Illustrious Voyeur. We should be up in running again sometime soon.

For those of you who submitted, you may choose to ask for your pieces to not be published if you have changed your minds, or bare with us until a new decision is reached. We will more than likely publish an issue that contains the work that was submitted with a suitable theme. We just had a few unexpected delays and cannot move forward at this time. You will be notified when we can move on.

Thanks, and we apologize again to everyone!
Sincerely,
Illustrious Voyeur Panel

Vol. 2 Submissions Deadline Approaching...

Hey Everyone!

This is just a reminder that the deadline for Illustrious Voyeur Volume #2:  Campfire Tales/Ghost Stories is SEPTEMBER 14th at 5PM!  We welcome new submissions as well as existing work that fit the parameters and theme listed below.

Your interpretation of "campfire tales" could be anything from ghost stories to Native American legend.  We want depictions of the conversations that tend to take place late at night, in the middle of the woods, around a campfire.  Your piece can be inspired by an already existing tale or created around a personal idea.  If you need some inspiration we suggest looking up Are You Afraid of the Dark?,  Goosebumps,  Tales from the Crypt, and Eerie Indiana.  GET CREATIVE WITH IT AND HAVE FUN!  Remember: your submissions MUST be formatted in a vertical orientation, 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches, and sent as a jpeg file with 300 dpi. The submissions must be in black and white OR grayscale media.

Don't Forget! November's theme is Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), so after you submit or have submitted for this month, start brainstorming for next month's submissions!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

We look forward to seeing your contribution!

Thanks again and stay tuned for more IV updates!

TGIF for IV

Hello Everyone!

We have finally done it! We have completed binding all of the 250 copies of the Illustrious Voyeur Volume 1: The Circus!

We handed a few out around campus and they have been really well received so far! EXCITING! We are a few hours away from attending First Friday downtown to hand these to the public!

For those of you who are submitting for Vol 2: Campfire Tales, we wanted to tell you that we are pushing the dates for submissions BACK a few days. SO the new deadline for Illustrious Voyeur Volume 2: Campfire Tales is now September 14th by 5pm. We will also send out a follow up email tonight to remind you all about this change. DON'T FORGET that once we receive your submissions we will send out a follow up email that contains a critique as well as information for proceeding with your submissions. You can always submit as many pieces as you want each month.

Again, we want to encourage anyone to submit for Volume 2 and other future volumes/themes as mentioned from the previous entry. We would also like to extend an additional Thank You to those contributing artists as well as those of you who helped us with binding this week. THANK YOU!

Hello!

We are proud to announce that we are approaching the release of Illustrious Voyeur, Volume #1: The Circus on September 1st and 2nd! We just picked up our 250 printed copies today (which look fantastic!) and will be binding over the next few days. We will be handing out a select number of issues at on campus as we will hand out the remainder at First Friday on Santa Fe street in downtown Denver. Keep in mind this first issue is free since we are trying to gain followers and new contributing artists. So please join us if you are interested!

As we are putting final touches on this issue we wanted to remind everyone that Volume #2: Campfire Tales art submissions will be due September 9th by 5pm.  As a reminder: your submissions MUST be formatted in a vertical orientation, 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches, and sent as a jpeg file with 300 dpi. The submissions must be either in black in white media(ums) OR be converted to a grayscale image. YOU MUST SIGN THE CONSENT FORMS PROVIDED BY IV TO ALLOW US PERMISSION TO USE YOUR SUBMISSIONS FOR PRINTING PURPOSES ONLY! You maintain all rights to you work. This consent form releases IV from all liabilities and maintains the right to print your work for the issue it relates to.
